September 20-21, 2008 was our church retreat. Attendance (and I don’t have the figures) was close to last year’s.
The American Heritage Dictionary has two applicable definitions for ‘retreat’:
- A period of seclusion, retirement, or solitude.
- A period of group withdrawal for prayer, meditation, or study: a religious retreat.
Our retreat was a great learning experience. Dr Del did a wonderful job challenging us. To this writer, it was more of a workshop than a retreat. Hopefully some of you readers out there will take issue with my statements, and will respectfully challenge them, or maybe even agree with them.
